Microsoft's Chris Early Takes Reins Of Windows Live

Microsoft announced today that Chris Early, of the company's Casual Games division, is now General Manager of Games For Windows Live, the PC online multiplayer community that Microsoft spun off of its popular Xbox Live service earlier this year.

Placing one of its top casual games managers entirely on GFW Live would seem to indicate a strong commitment from Microsoft to the service, despite complaints from early adopters.

Microsoft added in today's statement that Bryan Trussel, who was made the interim manager of Xbox Live Arcade upon the sudden departure of longtime XBLA head Greg Canessa, will "replace Early leading the casual game services."

What this doesn't really answer is the long-standing question of who is running XBLA now, anyway. Although Trussel was made interim head in February, it was Early who was put in front of the press as the public face of XBLA at Game Developers Conference in March.
